Shell Art by Peggy Green

home recent work contact

Peggy Green is a SHELL ARTIST who decided, when Victorian pieces became difficult to find, she would create her own art form using an assortment of old and new shells, vintage boxes and hand cut shapes to make exquisite collectables

She has been able to find the same shells the Victorian artist used to border their work and she incorporates these into her many large commissions, grotto work, boxes, small to large mirror frames, crosses and hearts in an array of variations.  She creates custom pieces and is experienced in restoration work.

She gained her creative eye while working as a Photo Stylist in Houston with some of the best photographers and Fortune 500 companies.  Her interest in antiques and training shifted her attention to shell art.  The market for her art expanded while designers and decorators have been collecting her work from coast to coast for nearly a decade.

You can see her work at Twenty Six Twenty Joanel, a shop named for it's address in Houston.

Peggy has been featured on HGTV-Country Home Series, Country Home Magazine and Texas Country Reporter - TV segment.  More of her work can also be seen in the 2010 semi-annual summer/fall issue of ANTIQUE SHOPS & DESIGNERS at Barnes & Noble.
